Hell's Revenge features notorious, highly technical obstacles located just off the main trail.
These challenging features attract hardcore rock crawlers and crowds of spectators. Standard vehicles and ATVs should avoid these areas, as they require specialized equipment and expert spotting.
You do not need to drive these sections to complete the 6.5-mile route. Safe bypasses exist for all the major challenges on the main trail.
15-30 minutes
This famous, extremely steep V-shaped chute requires precise tire placement to climb. If you do not have a highly modified vehicle and an expert spotter, park safely nearby. It is a great spot to watch other equipped drivers tackle the challenge.
15 minutesOther potholes off-limits
This massive, deep depression in the slickrock has incredibly steep walls. Vehicles drop in and then attempt to power out. It is only open for highly equipped vehicles. Remember that all other potholes on the trail are strictly off-limits.

This off-camber sandy ledge climb is located near the end of the trail. It is known for lifting vehicle tires completely into the air. You need at least one locking differential to navigate it safely. An easier bypass is marked just before the obstacle.
20 minutesHigh risk of damage
This jagged, stepped rock formation requires advanced maneuvering to climb up a narrow rock chute. Watch out for vehicle damage here. It stands as one of the highest risk obstacles on the entire route.
